3/25/2012 Columbia River Cats Hold Fist Practice

River Cats had a good first practice with Preston Devine catching John Young RHP, Alex Moses LHP, and Will Hall RHP pitchers this season.  Rubin Falcon SS, Greg Holzer 3B, and DJ Jackson Of.  The River Cats did a round of ground balls, With Greg, Ramon, and DJ working on Double Plays, Outfielders worked on hitting their cutoff and each player took batting practice.  Will Hall (robber  baron) in left field robbed DJ Jackson of a HR going up the fence left center catching the ball and bring in back.  DJ then hit the next one out.  Rubin Falcon had some nice hits and was able to lift  3 over the fence in his round. Preston, Greg, John, and Will each hit the ball into the gaps and sprayed the ball to all fields. Plenty of balls hit the fence and everyone had a good time.  Alex  will get an opportunity to hit next practice.

The majority of the team will have played at the college level or equivalent (pro experience a plus). We play about 20 league games at Volcanoes Stadium, Sckavone and Walker Stadiums with games split between weeknights and weekends. Our team also plays in some extra tournaments and out of town games as well. If you are interested in playing this summer (2012) and would like more information please email D Wangenheim
